The rotary club of hull and all the volunteers in the humber bridge half marathon team are incredibly proud to have raised over £500,000 for charity to date from the event.
These funds have impacted on a range of local charities across both sides of the Humber and further afield. At the start of 2014 we began a new partnership with The HEY Smile Foundation as the chosen charity for 2014. Through this partnership, we selected Downright Special as the 2015 charity. In 2016, we chose to step away for the traditional ‘one main benefitting charity’ and had three charities – HEY Mind, Butterflies Memory Loss Support Group & The Brain Tumour Charity.
In 2017 we supported a variety of charities supporting those suffering from loneliness and isolation. The charities were: Beverley Community Lift; EMS Yorkshire Ltd; Freedom Road Creative Arts; Hull and East Yorkshire Centre for the Deaf; Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, Hull Homeless Community Project; PAUL for Brain Recovery; The Moorlands Community Charity; United Reformed Church Living Well Project. Thanks to match funding from our friends at Help for Health the following charities were also supported: Dementia Friendly East Riding; Groundwork; Health Stars; Friends of Pelican Park and Special Stars Foundation.
We will be announcing our charity plans for 2018 shortly!
